Synseus Intelligence — Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

What the Extension Does

The Synseus Intelligence Chrome Extension detects when you are viewing a contact or opportunity record in Wealthbox or Redtail CRM and surfaces relevant practice intelligence in a side panel powered by Synseus.com.

Data We Collect

The extension collects:

• CRM context signals — the URL path and CRM provider (Wealthbox or Redtail) are read to determine which panel to surface. This data is not transmitted to Synseus servers.
• Usage count — a local counter stored in chrome.storage.local tracks how many times the panel has been opened. This data never leaves your browser.
• DOM signal detection — the extension scans visible page text for keywords (succession, retirement, meeting, prospect, AUM amounts) to enrich the panel context. This scan is performed locally in your browser. The result (a boolean signal category, not the raw text) is passed as a URL parameter to the Synseus panel.

Data We Do Not Collect

• Individual client names, account numbers, Social Security Numbers, or any personally identifiable client information
• Your CRM credentials or login information
• Contact record contents or field values
• Any data from pages outside Wealthbox and Redtail

Zero-PII Architecture

The extension includes a client-side PII scrubber that detects and redacts Social Security Numbers, account numbers, credit card numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, and dates of birth before any data is transmitted. This scrubbing runs entirely in your browser — no client PII ever reaches Synseus servers.

How the Panel Works

The side panel is an iframe loading synseus.com/panel. Authentication uses your existing Synseus session cookie — the extension does not store or transmit your Synseus credentials. If you are not signed in to Synseus, the panel displays a sign-in prompt.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. Panel usage data is governed by the Synseus Privacy Policy and Security documentation.

Permissions Used

• storage — stores drawer open/closed state and usage count locally in your browser
• tabs — reads the current tab URL to show CRM status in the extension popup
• host_permissions for Wealthbox and Redtail — allows the content script to inject the panel on those domains only
